I saw a tweet recently that said “contrary to what people on twitter will tell you, watching 1960s latvian arthouse films or whatever doesn't make u a better, smarter or more interesting person.
Came here from your review on Conclave. I’m a graduating senior from a Bible Institute and am graduating with more questions than answers. This year, my love for Theology and Film has blossomed to the point that it became the foundation of my senior capstone. However, my love for the Bible has shrunk with the heavy academics associated with it for four years. This article was sweet for me to read, and I read it at the exact time God intended me too. May I love the Bible more than I love film because of its beautiful complexity. May I not be discouraged by its lack of simplicity but excited to return to it again and again. Thank you for opening my eyes to see scripture as the epitome of art.
This may be my favorite thing you've written, Houston. Thank you for this.
Thanks Jeffrey! I'm honored!
